My Mindset Morning Routine for Running a Successful Wellness Business

These posts are so much fun! I love sharing my morning routines with you. I like to change up my morning quarterly or at least every 6 months or so, just to keep things interesting. But, I’ve found a really good rhythm that I’ve been sticking with recently.

I also want to mention that this routine is just what works for me, right now. Everyone has different priories and free time in the morning, so don’t feel like you need to follow this particular routine to a T.

I really believe in starting your day off in a way that brings you happiness and set you up for success from the start. I like to follow this routine every workday morning but tend to slack off a little on the weekends (aka sleep in). And, that’s totally fine with me!

I just don’t want you to feel pressure to have a morning routine that looks like mine…or anyone else’s for that matter. Do what feels good to you.

Alright, let’s get into my mindset morning routine for running a successful wellness business.

Meditation

I used to have so much trouble meditating and preferred doing yoga instead in the mornings. But what this really means is that I had trouble quieting my mind and really getting in tune with myself. With yoga, I focused more on the movements then the mind/body connection so that’s why I challenged myself to give meditation another try.

And I have to say…now I absolutely love meditating! I do my morning meditation first thing when I come downstairs. I’ll grab some water and choose some essential oils to diffuse, or maybe light a candle to prep the room.

Then I sit on the couch and choose a 10-minute guided meditation video on Youtube. I really like Gabby Bernstein’s and Boho Beautiful’s guided meditations. But, a lot of times I’ll just do a general search for something I want to work on that day. IE. Gratitude, positivity, or maybe a particular chakra that feels out of balance.

Then I just relax and take 10 minutes for myself. And I ALWAYS feel so much better and ready to tackle my day whenever I meditate. I can actually tell a difference in my productivity and positively on days where I skip it. This has been the biggest game-changer in my morning routine, for sure.

Reading or Journaling

After I meditate, I’ll make myself a cup of coffee and sit down with either a book or a journal. This really just depends on if I have a book I’m reading at the moment or not. Honestly, I’m more into reading than writing, so I usually have a book.

Right now, I’m reading Creating Money: Attracting Abundance. The book is all about manifesting prosperity, finding your life’s work, and fulfilling your life purpose. I love reading business books that spark creativity and instill a positive mindset for the day ahead.

I’ll usually read a chapter and then set it down for the morning. Sometimes I’ll come back to this book in the evening and read a little more before bed. But, if it’s rainy or cold outside sometimes I’ll read for a little longer and skip the next step.

Get Outside

At the time of writing this, it’s Fall. So if it’s a nice day, I want to get outside! I find that going on a short walk with my dog really helps to wake us both up and get in the right mindset for the day.

I’ll usually just walk with her and think about some of the things on my to-do list or listen to a Podcast. Nothing really crazy or special here. Just important to get outside and get that vitamin D.

Get Ready

Once I come back in from my walk, it’s time to get ready for the day. And this step really doesn’t take me too long. Sometimes I shower in the mornings and sometimes at night, it really just depends on the day.

But I’ll always brush my teeth, do a little skincare, and put on some casual clothes. I don’t generally put on makeup but I will occasionally if I have any Zoom meetings with clients.

Once I’m ready, I’ll make breakfast and sit down at the computer to answer emails and look at my Asana to-do list for the day. My favorite breakfasts right now are either oatmeal with cinnamon and apples or my favorite pineapple-green smoothie that I post constantly on Insta stories.
