We’re going to have a blast working 1-on-1 together! I’m so excited that you’ve decided to move forward with the Wellness Website Method.
By the end, you’ll have a website that converts curiosity to clients, a design partner that you can reach out to any time, and the tools to become a go-to wellness pro.
Please review this page to make sure that you’ve got all the details to set you up for success. I cover my policies, the design process, and some best practices for working together here. Plus, I have some FAQ at the end.
You’ll usually hear from me within 24 hours. The only exception is on evenings, weekends, and during vacations/holidays. In that case, you’ll hear from me on the next business day during office hours.
Once our project begins we will communicate using my favorite project management tool, Asana. This will allow us to stay on track with the project and make communication a breeze.
You can find a copy of your contract, invoices, and other project related materials inside of your Dubsado Portal. You should have an email with a link to your unique portal URL.
All homework should be completed before your project start date. The first order of business is to complete the Website Questionnaire. Then, start working on the copy for your website. Use the Copy that Converts Workbook as a resource.
It’s important to me that your website launches on time! Follow the timeline and due dates assigned in Asana to ensure that we’re on schedule. Failure to do so can result in a delayed timeline and, in some cases, fees due to re-scheduling.
A solid strategy makes the difference between a website that converts and one that doesn’t. On your project start date, we’ll meet on Zoom for our Creative Strategy Session. Think of this as our base for getting started, where the goal is to make sure we’re all on the same page.
Next, I will establish the flow of your site by creating a Sitemap and Wireframe. These ensure that users can get around your website with ease and will know exactly what action to take so that we can strategically guide traffic on your website to meet your business’s goals.
Here’s where the real magic happens! I will get started on design while you sit back and relax. You will receive one homepage and one interior page layout for review. We will work together to perfect the website design to your liking. Once approved, I will move onto development.
Every website that I develop is cross-browser tested and built for both desktop & mobile view. That’s tech speak for your website will look good and work on every device!
I’ll handle all of the technical stuff so that you can focus on marketing your services for launch day. You will get a secret link so that you can review your website before it’s released to the public. Once approved, you’re website will GO LIVE!
After your website is live, you might notice a couple of things that you want to change or tweak. Little things can come up that you might not have noticed before, and I can help with that! For the week following your launch date, I’m here to help with any edits that might crop up. Ensuring that you are 100% satisfied with the final website.
We will meet on Zoom for our Training Session. I’ll teach you how to update your current content, add blog posts, images, and copy to your website. By the end of the call, you’ll feel completely confident editing and customizing your brand new website.
We will be using Asana to communicate throughout the design process. Luckily, it’s really user-friendly and simple to use. Please watch the video above for a quick tutorial if you aren’t already familiar with the project management tool. I’m sure you’re going to love it just as much as I do!
I cannot wait to jump into the design process and build something that you and your audience are going to love! I have included a few guidelines to consider when providing constructive feedback to keep our project moving forward.
Best Practices:
My preferred method for receiving content is via a Google Drive Folder. Please create a separate Google Doc for each page on your website and place all of your photos in one folder. Then share the entire folder with me for use on your design.
If you don’t have access to Google Drive then we can share files via Dropbox instead. Just let me know that you’d like to share files this way and I’ll send you a link to a folder that we can both access. Please create a separate Word Doc or TextEdit file and place that in Dropbox. Then add all of your images to the “Photos” folder inside of Dropbox.
See Asana for copy/photo due dates for your project. Keep in mind that failure to meet copy/photo deadlines can affect your project timeline and the launch date of your website. In some cases, a late fee or rescheduling fee will be charged if the content is severely overdue. Please see your contract for more details on fees.
All of the files for our project together are in your Dubsado portal. You’ll be able to access this secure information by entering your email address once you visit the portal page. You should have received your unique portal URL via email from me. If you’ve misplaced this information feel free to reach out and I’ll send you the URL.
What do I need to have before our project start date? ExpandPlease make sure that you’ve completed all of your homework before our project start date. This includes the Website Questionnaire, Copy that Converts Workbook, and scheduling of your Creative Strategy Session.
Keep in mind that your website copy and any photos you’d like to include are due before the design process begins. I recommend having a rough draft of your copy in place before we start on the project. That way I can review it and help you refine it before your website goes live!
Can I Call/Text/DM/Email You Instad of using Asana? ExpandThe short answer is no. Asana is my preferred method of communication for so many reasons. Handling our project via Asana will allow us to work together seamlessly. It helps to keep things organized and allows me to assign due dates to keep us on track.
Some of our communication, throughout the process, will be done via Zoom calls. This includes a Creative Strategy Session at the start of the project and a Training Session at the end.
Texting and DM’s on social is not the best way to reach me. If you have a question that isn’t related to our project together, send me an email and I’ll respond shortly.
Can I use my own copywriter? ExpandYes, you may. As long as they are willing to collaborate with me then I’d be happy to work with them. Please discuss the timeline with them to make sure that your website copy will be ready to go before my design process begins.
If you need a website copywriter, send me an email. I have a few that I can recommend to you!
When do you need copy and photos from me? ExpandYour website copy and any photos you’d like to include are due before the design process begins. I recommend having a rough draft of your copy in place before we start on your project. That way I can review it and help you refine it before your website goes live!
Will I be able to make changes to my website? ExpandYes, I use WordPress along with several plugins to ensure that your website is very user-friendly and easy to edit. You’ll be able to swap out images, edit text, and even set-up new pages with ease. After your website launches, we’ll jump on a Zoom call where I’ll show you how to maintain your website.
If you don’t have the time to maintain your website, I offer retainer packages for ongoing support. Let me know if that’s something you’d be interested in and I’ll send you all the details.
What is a domain/hosting and why do I need it? ExpandA domain name is a URL that someone types to get to your website. In my case, this would be www.julesdesign.co.
A host is where all of your website files will be uploaded and stored.
Who do you reccomend for domain/hosting? ExpandYou’ll need to purchase a domain name and hosting before we move into the website development phase. For a domain, I recommend NameCheap. For Hosting, I recommend Get Flywheel or Siteground. If you’d like to use Get Flywheel, I can set this up for you to make the process super simple.
Note: These are all affiliate links. Thank you, in advance, if you purchase your domain/hosting using these links as I get a small commision for referring you.
