A common question I get from clients when we start working together on their brand and website is what photos do I need for my website from a brand photoshoot?
The best website photos help potential clients feel connected to you, understand your services or program, and picture themselves working with you before they ever inquire.
As a website designer for health practitioners and coaches, I help clients strategically plan their photography so their website feels warm, trustworthy, and relatable. I’m all about bringing your personality into your brand & website so it feels right.
Here are the website photos I recommend every health practitioner, therapist, coach, or clinician capture during their next brand shoot.
This is a welcoming photo where you’re looking at the camera and smiling/relaxed. It should immediately help people feel comfortable and safe.
For health practitioners and coaches, connection and trust matter. Your audience wants to know there’s a real person behind the website, and that’s what this photo type accomplishes.
These photos are helpful to have in places on your website like the homepage hero section, about page, contact page, and social media profile.

One of the most effective website photos you can capture is showing the actual experience of working with you. These photos help visitors visualize themselves in your process, which builds trust and emotional connection.
Show the experience of working together so clients can get a sense of the process, not just the finished result. Make sure to capture the essence of your process, whether that’s in person or virtual.

It’s also completely fine to use a friend, family member, or model as your “client” in the photo. Privacy is important as a health practitioner, so we want to make sure your photos respect that as well. I often recommend having a model just outside of the camera frame in these cases.
Showing your office, practice, or even your kitchen (if you’re a nutritionist or dietitian) helps make your brand feel familiar before someone books a consultation call with you.
Whether you work virtually or in person, these photos help create comfort and transparency. These images also work beautifully as supporting visuals throughout your website design.

Include a few shots in your brand photoshoot that feel candid and human, which help potential clients connect with you. Give potential clients a glimpse into who you are outside of your credentials and services.
Lifestyle photos help communicate the personality and energy behind your brand while making your website feel more dynamic and relatable.

Think about what visually represents your brand values and the experience you want clients to have. Bonus points if this is something you have in common with your ideal client.
And…I don’t mean before and after photos here. Those are great too! But that is more for a testimonial or case study on your website.
One of the most overlooked website photo ideas is capturing the emotional result of your work. For your brand photoshoot, you’ll want to photograph more than just the service itself to tell the whole story. Try to capture how clients will feel after going through your service or program, so your brand represents that feeling.

These types of photos help your audience emotionally connect with the transformation you provide. You can either act as the client in these photos or hire a model (friend/family member)
We want your brand photos to tell a story that gives the full picture of what it’s like to work with you. Working with your website designer before your shoot can also help ensure your photos align with your website layout and brand direction. This is exactly what I help my clients to do when we’re working together!
I provide photography direction during the brand design process so your images align seamlessly with your new brand identity, both visually and strategically.
Then, during the website design process, I help clients hand-select the best photos for each section of their website and fill in any gaps with thoughtful stock imagery when needed.
The right images build trust, create emotional connection, and help potential clients picture themselves working with you.
So before your next brand shoot, focus on capturing the experience, personality, and transformation behind your brand.
I specialize in working with practitioners and coaches on brand & website design that feels elevated and deeply connected with your audience.
