Are you guilty of being inauthentic with your marketing? If so, it may be hurting your health + wellness businesses growth.
Being inauthentic simply means that you’re not being 100% real with your audience. You’re likely trying to be perfect and are frequently comparing yourself to others. Which, unfortunately, means that the one thing that sets you apart, isn’t shining through. And that one special thing is you.
That sounded pretty cheesy, but it’s really true. You are your brand. So, you need to show up as yourself.
Today I’m going to share how to authentically grow your health + fitness business. These marketing tips will help you genuinely connect with your ideal client. So, let’s get to it!
I know, I know. You’re probably hearing this advice everywhere and you’re also probably sick of hearing it. But it is being said for good reason. Think about it, there are lots of health coaches, nutritionists, nurse practitioners, yoga teachers, or whatever it is that you do out there. And, you need to stand out.
This is why it’s especially important to get clear on who your ideal client is and how you can best serve them. This allows you to niche down and talk to that one person, and that one person only, over and over again. That way you get more of the right kind of client and don’t appeal to everyone.
If you need a little more help here, grab a copy of my Wellness Website Workbook which will help your niche down and get clear on who you serve and how to attract them.
Being real and telling your story will build an authentic connection with your ideal client. It won’t build a connection with everyone and it will repel some people. But, that’s OK! Remember, you’re the best fit for the ideal clients you severe with the pain points you know how to fix.
Tell your story all over social media, your blog, your about page, in marketing…everywhere. You’ll start to attract people with a similar story to yours. One that you know how to solve so that you can make real change and authentically help your clients instead of feeling like your selling them something they don’t need.
We want past clients to be singing our praises and telling everyone how much they loved working with you. After all, you fixed a pain point for that ideal client and they are grateful for your help. Referrals really go a long way to prove that you accomplished what you said you could do with your service offering.
Referrals are probably one of the most authentic forms of marketing because they simply mean that you did a good job. And, people love to hear that!
So, how can you get more referrals?
Creating content is one of the best ways to display your expertise and be genuine with your ideal client. First, get focused on what you want to talk about. This should tie into your service offerings and what your ideal client’s pain points are. You want to bridge that gap so your client sees how you can help them.
Now you just need to create the content in any way that you’d like. This can be a blog post, email marketing, free opt-in, podcast episode, youtube video, facebook or Instagram live, webinar…the options are pretty limitless here. There are SO many ways to create content.
Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m guilty of falling into a content trap. Meaning I tend to only create content for a few platforms and generally in writing. So if you’re only blogging or posting on Instagram, like me, then try to shake things up! Could you create a Youtube video based on one of your already existing blog posts? How would you feel about going live on Facebook or Instagram? Or hosting a webinar for your email list?
It comes down to one question, how can you better serve your clients with your content?
Have you ever heard the phrase, build it and they will come? I hate to tell you this but, It’s a myth. You need to put in some work for your visibility. Once you create all this amazing stuff you’ll want to get it out there for the world to see!
You can build up your visibility through your own social media channels and email list. Making sure that your current audience is always aware of the new things you create. But we also want to bring in new people regularly.
Sure, you can still do this with social but it’s also great to collaborate with other business owners and get in front of their audience. To keep this authentic we want to reach out to people we have already connected with.
Try using social media as a marketing tool to get to know other business owners. Cold pitches are much less likely to work then one from someone who is an acquaintance or friend. So, be genuine and start connecting.
I hope that these tips & tricks help you to show up authentically for your business. Being real will build genuine connections that lead to friendships and business growth. So get out there and chat with a few new people today!
